Writing Workshops

Our workshops are designed to give young writers a chance to explore a wide variety of story ideas with the support of a Writing Coach. Children who are challenged by writing receive helpful tools and inspiration to express their ideas. Children who are excited about their writing have the chance to learn new ways to expand and elaborate on their work.

Our workshops and presentations also give parents and families tools to support the young writers in their lives. We explore topics such as appropriate monitoring, how to encourage independence, and motivating young writers. Our presentations are designed as brief 10-20 minute overviews which can easily be included in PTA and similar meetings.

Writing Camps

Our Writing Camps create a playful atmosphere for young writers to learn, connect, and inspire. Through a blend of individual and group activities, writers create several pieces of work while learning the core tools to support further writing. Many of our Writing Camps offer the opportunity for each writer to be assessed and assigned personal goals to work on during Camp.

Whether a young writer first enters Writing Camp as a struggling speller who finds writing a paragraph overwhelming or as a mostly independent high school student looking to fine tune their skills before entering college, we have something to suit their needs.
