Writing Workshops

Creative Writing Series

Our Creative Writing workshops offer regular chances for young writers of all ages to drop in and write stories around holiday themes. We offer outlines and suggestions and helpful tips for moving stories forward in a supportive environment. Each year, we offer workshops such as "Scary Stories" for Halloween and "A Winter's Tale" during the winter holidays.

Parent Partnership Workshops

Our Parent Partnership workshops offer key tools for families. Our Helping Kids Write workshop offers an overview of techniques to better support kids writing at home, including how to motivate struggling writers, how to use outlines and editing to strengthen writing, and how to judge and supply the help your kids need. Our Motivate to Succeed workshop takes an in-depth look at what motivates students to learn and work and walks your family through creating a tailored motivation plan for your kids. Our Parent Practice workshop invites your family to bring your kids along to learn the basics of creating stronger writing and implement a plan to motivate and support your kids.

Build Your Own Workshop

You're invited to take elements from various workshops and build your own! Do you have a group of friends who would all love to see an Earth Day Creative Writing workshop? Would your school, PTA, or Parent's Club like a 10-20 minute presentation at your next meeting? Your group can request a workshop or presentation by emailing us with your proposal and preferred dates. Do you need help deciding what to include? Here are some questions to get you started.
